Rules for Eating Right

Rules for Eating Right

Was browsing through MSN Health & Fitness and the article on "Top 10 Rules for Eating Right" caught my attention.
I shall quote a few rules from the above hyperlink all thanks to MSN Health & Fitness.

1. Use smaller plates.

Whether you're already trim or trying to lose weight, one of the best things you can do for your waistline and your health is to downsize your dishware.

Hahax ^_^ Its true ya. Personally i have experienced that.

Back at home, we use big bowls for meals. So it is a habit for me to put lots of side dishes into my bowl and proceed to the living room for the tv show. In a way, i ate more than i normally could. Cos I'm one who will as much as possible finish all my food and not waste them.

However, small bowls are used over at huBb's place. The size of the bowl is 1/3 of the size of the big bowl i used at home. Surprisingly, i feel full after finishing that small bowl of rice.

7. Retrain your palate.

Don't expect to love new flavors right away (and certainly don't expect your kids to). Just keep serving the new dishes, and soon neither you nor your palate will recall what all the fuss was about.

Totally agree with this particular rule. Why huBb don't like eating bitter gourd ???
You gonna like it in the future =p *just keep serving*

9. Sit down to dinner with the entire family.

Kids who eat with their parents are less likely to consume junk, less likely to overeat, and less likely to be overweight. Parents who eat with their children report greater satisfaction with family life.

In the future, I would want my kids to sit down around the round table and have dinner together. At least when they are young and times were mostly spent at home. *hahax*

Xiao Qian promoting family bonding & the value of a family. Its really important.
